It has been almost a year since that fateful day when I first watched
The Wicker Man (2006), and my interest in Nicolas Cage blossomed into full fledged fandom. Ever since then my enthusiasm for Cage has been met mostly with derision from my friends and colleagues. Though I've managed to convince a few of Cage's worth, the majority of people refuse to listen to reason, being swept up in the popular opinions of the day. The situation is so bad that someone actually lit my
Bad Lieutenant: Port of Call New Orleans poster (and thus the door of my dorm room) on fire last year, thus resulting in hundreds of dollars of damage that my school had to pay for just because someone out there really hates Nicolas Cage. Or me, but they could easily have beat me up instead of setting my door on fire.

The result of the hideous hate crime. |
Thus I've decided to establish this blog in the hopes of creating a more tolerant environment for Nicolas Cage enthusiasts. Here I will document my attempts to watch every film Nicolas Cage has acted in, ranging from the great to the terrible, and I try to analyze them in a fair and balanced manner. Though I am a Nicolas Cage fan, I am no sycophant, and if I feel the film is devoid of entertainment (the most important aspect of any Cage film) or that Cage made some critical mistake, I will not falter in saying so. And if this all sounds terribly serious, well...keep in mind that this blog is named after a line from
The Wicker Man.
Expect my thoughts on
Vampire's Kiss in the next few days, and remember: "Even if the victim complies, it's still murder." Stay classy, my friends!
